How to use a Cervical Collar

​1. Measure the patient: Align the head to neutral or “eyes forward” position unless contraindicated by your protocol.

2. Adjust and lock the adjustable collar: Pull out two lock tabs, adjust the chin support to the suitable height, lock both sides by pressing two lock tabs.

3. Preform the collar.

4. Apply the collar while manually maintaining neutral head position: Place the chin support well under the chin. Pull the back of the collar snug while holding the front in place, then fasten.

5. For a supine patient, slide the rear panel behind the neck before placing the chin support.

PE Cervical Collar

Applied for：

It is used for cervical injuries requiring non-rigid support and limited mobility. It may also be used as an aid for the relief of pain associated with neck muscle spasms or whiplash injuries.

Cautions：

1. Before using the cervical collar, be sure the patient is “eye forward”.

2. Don’t forget to adjust the height of the cervical collar for patients.

3. Don’t adjust the collar on patient.

4. Don’t store collar in folded position.
