Besides carbon, these pipes contain alloying elements like 1.20% Manganese, 0.05% phosphrous and 0.05% sulphur. Some other minerals are 0.40% chromium, 0.40% copper, 0.40% niobium, 0.15% molybdenum and 0.08%vanadium.These trace elements should not exceed 1% of the total composition of the pipes. The tensile strength of ASTM A106 Gr. C pipes is 60,000 psi or 415 Mpa, while its minimum yield strength is about 35,000 psi or 240 Mpa.
