Description

70/30 Copper Nickel Sheet has medium high strength and good creep resistance at high temperatures. It is expensive as compared with other alloys with similar mechanical properties and copper-aluminum alloys.
The welding processes which is suitable for ASTM B122 UNS C71500 are oxyacetylene welding, coated metal arc welding, brazing, spot welding, butt welding, soldering, gas shielded arc welding, seam welding, etc.
70/30 Copper Nickel Plate hot working capacity is rated as good with the suitable hot working temperature being between 927°C - 1038°C.
Copper Nickel 70/30 Plate annealing temperature of is between 649 and 816°C.
Cuni 70/30 Sheet/ Cuni 70/30 Plate are almost entirely resistant to stress corrosion. The addition of small amounts of manganese and iron makes it  ideal for use in applications which involves high-velocity polluted seawater. It is known for strength, workability, weldability and formability.
C71500 Plate / C71500 Sheet have excellent corrosion resistance, especially in marine environments. It has moderately high strength, good creep resistance at elevated temperatures.
ASTM B122 C71500 has the excellent resistance of any of the copper alloys to impingement attack and to corrosion from most waters and acids. It is useful in severe corrosive conditions in which service lives longer than those of other copper alloys are desired.
70 30 Cu Ni Plate hashigher content of nickel compared to 90 10 Cu Ni which gives enhanced mechanical properties, whilst still maintaining the excellent corrosion properties.
Cu Ni 70 30 Plate are mainly used for seawater service as forged and machined pump and valve components, hardware and fittings. Which is been used where high corrosion resistance is required and where concern over chloride stress-corrosion cracking prevents use of stainless steels.
